MY ALL-STAR TEAM:
With the All-Star festivities coming to a close, I thought of providing my opinions on who should've made it.
EASTERN CONFERENCE:
Starting with the East, I don't think that Wade should've started simply because he's not the VERY best SG in the league. Instead, I probably would've gone with John Wall simply because he's doing serious work. Other than that, I like what the starting line-up looks like.
As for the reserves, I thought that Joe Johnson & Paul Millsap shouldn't have made it over other deserving East players. For example, Andre Drummond has shown, at a young age of 20, that he can play like an All-Star. Kyle Lowry has surprised a lot of us, and I thought that he played better than Joe Johnson. Two questionable selections right there.
WESTERN CONFERENCE
With the West, it's a little tougher to analyze with way too many deserving players. Obviously, Kobe Bryant's popularity gave him his 16th selection, yet he rightfully gave up his spot to give an opportunity to the younger players. James Harden takes his place with the starters, and I agree. His replacement? New Orleans homeboy Anthony Davis: the perfect choice.
With two of the forward spots that Blake Griffin & Kevin Love occupy, I thought Lamarcus Aldridge was equally as deserving as the both of them, so somebody was bound to be left out of the starting lineup. All three of them each bring something different, so as long as all three of them are All-Stars, I'm fine with what happens.
With the reserves, like the East, I have two problems: Tony Parker & Dirk Nowitzki. Eric Bledsoe has been BALLIN'! Tony's old. Case & point. Same with DeMarcus Cousins & Dirk Nowitzki. Make way for the new wave.
